New Site & Updates!
This has been a long time coming. Too long. Frankly, I love the act of writing. However, the business of writing?
No…no, I’m not a fan of that. It’s not the easiest thing to do and uses skills and things that I simply don’t have.
Self promotion? I hate it. I always have. I’ve never been the type to brag, to the point that even telling someone I’m an author is rarely done. Hell, I have more than 100 books written at this point, and some people in my life still have no idea that I write books.
What else do I hate? Web sites. Social media. I suck at them. I see others and what they do seems so effortless. Now, maybe it’s not, but damn, it sure as hell seems like it. Casual witty remarks or posts that update people on their day and all of that. My persona Facebook page has a picture from something like 18 years ago at this point. I’m pretty sure 3 of my kids aren’t even born at that point.
What’s the tl/dr in that? I finally have a new site that I am aiming to keep updated! I hated my original site pretty much from the start, but no matter what I did, I couldn’t quite get it to look how I sort of wanted it to. Not even close. This is FAR closer to what I was hoping for, so prayers said and blood spilled on an altar somewhere that I can do it.
Now - on to writing - I’m currently writing book 11 in the Shadowmen series. I’m about a third of the way through it. Ty’s fit to be tied. I won’t drop any spoilers if you haven’t read book 10, but at the end of that book, the enemy has escalated their attacks and taken someone important to her. Now she has to make them pay…but how do you do that to an enemy that outnumbers you by more than a hundred to one? Yeah, you can see her problem. She won’t give up, though. She can’t. That’s not even remotely in her nature.
OTHER books in the works?
I literally have series that I’ve never published due to needing to be edited, except I go on to something else like following string in a gordian knot. Hell, I had Chimera 4 and 5 and Billie 5 written for years at this point, and they were just released a couple weeks ago. The next series I expect to get out is the Mother Earth series. It’s a 6-book series that I wrote over about 6 months, and I rather enjoy it. If you read my Hard Decisions series, that as loosely based on a theme I picked up from the show The 100. In that show, Clarke is in such a hard spot. Everything’s so brutal, and ever fork in the road has crap on the left and shit on the right, but she has to keep going on. That was what I wanted for this series, so Kris was born.
The Mother Earth series is based on an overall idea picked up from Yellowjackets. That show…I started it just before the 3rd year came out, so watched all 3 pretty much in a row then started it again immediately after the last one ended. I loved it and what the girls an into. So I ran with the overall idea of being stranded, except I threw in more of a supernatural element. Hard Decisions didn’t have that, but this one does. I’m editing and have to do an audio edit and get covers, so I’m saying a prayer I can have them out by February 2026.
That’s it for now - the site isn’t completed yet, but I’m rolling it out anyway. I have to create a page for my series with synopses and book covers and links and all of that, but that’ll be a task for the future. Just NOT years away.
