Incursion 3 first draft is done

Okay, that took longer than it should have. I started writing Horrors Within #4, got most of the way through, then stopped and started this one. It’s done, at least the first draft.

I like where the story went, so we’ll see if others do. I have a few things to edit ahead of it, so it probably won’t be out until late May or June (hopefully not after that).

I’ve had people ask me about how quickly I write. I know that I’m blessed with being able to work through drafts quickly, and I don’t take it for granted. Sure, I may not get the all American novel out of it, but I’m going for entertainment. Hopefully I’m hitting that for people, but at least I’m hitting it for me. This book was started on 3/22 and finished on 4/7. It currently has a bit more than 157K words in it. That’s a bit more than 9K words a day on average. When I was doing NaNo before it went to hell, my goal was between 10,500 and 11,500, so it’s a bit slower than that rate, which isn’t sustainable forever, that’s for sure. None of that is to toot my anything. Not even remotely. I struggle with self promotion and the idea of pride and all of that, so that’s far from what I’m intending there. It’s just to answer questions that I’ve gotten at times.

That being said? It’s still done.

Time to head back into Horrors Within.
