Horrors Within 4 draft is done
All righty - Horrors Within #4 draft is done. I started it a bit ago, shelved it for a while to write a different book that I finished a few days ago - and now THIS one is done. I can’t edit it just yet, so I’ll let that one sit for a while while I work on editing the others that I have done.
I’ve mentioned it in author notes at times, but I hate having so many series open. I’ve been working hard to close some of them and I’m making progress, so that’s about all I can hope for. I have series cappers written for 3 different series that are waiting final editing and covers, but that will leave 11 that are currently open. That’s appalling as a writer AND a reader. I think I can finish Learning My Place with one more book. Possibly Second Chance as well. Learning My Place is a more obvious stopping point. For Second Chance, my original plan was to end the series with the announcement to the public about the supernatural world. I’m NOT certain I can do that, though. I’ve never written from the perspective of going through a change like that, so I might want to do that for a bit. I had thought of making Mooncalf Predator a trilogy, then realized that doesn’t work without forcing it, which I don’t want to do. Silver Linings MIGHT be possible to end with one more along with Tainted.
No idea what direction to head in. The worst part is that I have other ideas too. It seems like everyone has to have a zombie apocalypse series, so I have one in mind that adds in the supernatural, without it being as in your face. I have another set in an academy BUT it might not be an academy series. That one’s getting thought about kinda heavily.
I could also add to an existing series without it being a closing book. Like Personification? That only has 1 book in it. That one sticks in my throat when I think about it. I love Persie and her world, and every time I go to focus on it, my brain smacks me around and I end up focusing elsewhere.
Okay, that’s enough bitching about first world problems. At least I know they are. I try not to complain about it in the writer’s group that I’m in because it sounds so stupid. That being said? Happy reading. If anyone wants a particular series hit, just let me know and I’ll see what I can do.
